Summary chapter 21
“The Giver”
At the evening meal the Jonas’ family eat together and the father say that was the last Gabriel’s day with the family. The mother asks if the toddler go well. But Gabriel cries a lot and don’t sleep so there will be the Gabriel’s release. Jonas is choked but he says anything. Lily and the mother say that’s a good idea. Jonas is terrified.
So this night he leave the community, he’s unhappy to leave is friends, Fiona and Asher. He doesn’t stop next to the Old house and stay in the shadow because it’s very dangerous. He cross the bridge and look the community without colours and feelings. He go very fast along the road, he’s angry because he has broken a lot of rules: first he left the dwelling at night, second he stole food to the community, third he took this father’s bike because it’s the only with a child seat, and he kidnapped Gabriel.
The toddler sleep on the bike and Jonas must sleep.
To the morning he stops and eats with Gabriel, he takes the toddler in his arms and transmits the memory to him. There are a lot of planes and they are angry, the days pass and sleep the days and go the night is automatic. Jonas know that the planes search their and the technology don’t see the colours but the temperature. So when a plane come Jonas transmit the memoirs of snow to Gabriel then they become cold and the plane don’t detect their. And the toddler say “Plane, Plane” when he hear an engine’s noise.
They are in the landscape and there are no civilisation and less plane because they are very away from the community.
