The ceremony of twelve is coming soon and Jonas has to do the volunteer hours, to receive his assignment as a twelve.
Jonas thinks about another male Eleven named Benjamin who has been volunteering at the Rehabilitation Center ( it's where the people go when they are injured ) for four years. And Jonas can't talking with Benjamin about his accomplishments, because it would be breaking the rules.
Jonas goes at the House of the Old. He sees Asher and Fiona's, another female Eleven and Jonas' friend. He also meets an old woman who is one of the many waiting to be helped with bathing. Her name is Larissa. Jonas helps and washes her. During the bath, Larissa tells Jonas about the release of Roberto and a birthmother , Edna. But she explains him that no one knows exactly where we go after the release...
